Chapter 73: The Fair is coming

Morning came and Luna finished her breakfast. She stood up from the table and hurried to the door as she changed into an earth pony. Starfire had just walked down the steps when he saw Luna hanging her school bag around her neck.
"Where are you going so early in the morning?" Starfire asked curiously.
"To school, Starfire. I got to go or I'll be late. Bye," She hurried out the door and closed it behind her.

She ran from home down a few blocks till she reached the park. She slowed down to a walk when she entered the park. She thought about having Starfire with her for a month. She was happy to have him with her but she remembered why he find the ice blue pony. It had been some time since she last saw him. As she thought about it, she suddenly felt as if she had seen him before.
"Hi," said a familiar voice.
Luna woke from her deep thought and looked next to her to find Blizzard walking with her. Luna smiled, she hadn't seen him for some time.
"Hi," Luna replied.
"I haven't seen you for a while," Blizzard remarked.
"Oh, I um...went to see my grandparents," Luna lied, "Do you have any grandparents?"
"No, I don't have any," Blizzard replied not sure what Grandparents were, "I see Blueberry isn't with you."
"He doesn't walk me to school. I don't see him till I get to school," Luna replied.
"Oh," Blizzard replied.
Just then Luna's friend ran through the park and soon had caught up to Luna and Blizzard.
"Luna, have you heard?" Patch exclaimed.
"Heard what?" Luna asked.
"There's going to be a fair in town," Starlight answered.
"It's all over the newspapers," Bright Eyes added.
"What's a..fair?" Blizzard asked curiously.
The girls were so excited to tell Luna that they forgot Blizzard was with her.
"Are you serious?" Melody exclaimed, "You don't know?"
Blizzard didn't answer he just glared at the girls waiting for an answer.
"It's a place to have fun," Luna answered, "There's rides, food, candy, games and lots of more. You have to go, it'll be fun. I went only once with my parents but I never forgot it."
"Fun?" Blizzard asked not sure what they meant by fun.
"Yeah," Bon Bon answered, "I can't wait, all those food contests and food stands."
"Bon Bon, I hope that's not all you'll be doing there," Melody exclaimed.
"Mostly," Bon Bon answered.
"Not if we can help it," Clover replied.
The girls laughed as they walked into school.

After school Luna and her friends hurried out of the school when the bell rang.
"I heard someone at lunch say they saw the fair being set up just outside of town," Patch told them.
"Lets go check it out," Starlight suggested.
"Check what out?" Blueberry asked with Teddy, Ace and Lancer behind him.
"The fair. Are you coming to see it with us?" Sweetheart asked.
"Sure," Blueberry answered.
"I would love to see it set up," Ace replied.
"I wouldn't mind either," Teddy replied.
"Sure, I'll go with you," Lancer replied.
"Great, lets go," Melody exclaimed.
As they ran through the park together, Blizzard walked out of school and saw them running.
"Strange. I wonder where they're going?" Blizzard thought. He decided to follow them while he wore his school bag around his neck.

They walked out of the park and past the town to a clearing at the edge of town. They stopped and stood on the sidewalk watching the ponies unload the rides and stands from the tucks.
"The Fair is going to be pretty big from the looks of it," Bright Eyes observed.
"Bigger, the better," Patch exclaimed.
Luna stood watching with interest not paying attention to what they were talking about.
"Are you girls going to the fair?" Lancer asked.
"Of course we are," Starlight replied.
"Who wouldn't want to go?" Patch asked.
"Are you boys going?" Sweetheart asked.
"I am," Teddy answered smiling at Sweetheart.
"I have an idea, why don't we go together?" Bright Eyes asked, "I'll be fun."
"Sure," Blueberry answered.
"Sounds like a good idea," Ace replied.
"That's ok with me," Lancer replied.
"You can count me in," Teddy replied.
Umm...Lunarstar?" Starlight called noticing she wasn't paying attention.
Luna turned around looking at her curiously.
"Are you coming with us?" Starlight asked.
"Where to?" Luna asked.
"To the fair when it opens," Patch answered.
"Oh, yes, I will," Luna replied. She looked at Blueberry and thought about what Stardust had told her. She knew Starfire would be there at the fair and will most likely watch her.
"Well I got to go before Raspberry comes looking for me," Blueberry remarked.
"Blueberry, want to play soccer?" Ace asked him.
Blueberry looked at Luna.
"Come on, we hardly play anymore," Teddy exclaimed.
"Alright, I'll meet you guys in the park," Blueberry replied.
The boys turned and left the girls.
"I better go before mom gets worried. I got to look after the shop today," Starlight quickly said, "bye." Then she left.
Slowly, one by one the girls left leaving Luna alone.
She continued watching the workers set the rides up till a voice suddenly made her jump.
"That's the fair?" Blizzard asked.
Luna brushed her fur flat with her hoof, "Yes or at lest it will be when they finish setting up. Me and my friends are going when it opens. We'll most likely go at sunset, that's about the time when all the lights come on. How abut you? Are you going?"
"I don't know."
"Every pony in town will be there," Luna replied.
"Everyone?" Blizzard asked.
"hummm," Blizzard mumbled quietly.
Luna looked at him and noticed he was pondering on thinking.
"Well, I guess I'll see you there then," Luna replied, "Bye," then she turned and left.
Blizzard continued to stare at the workers, "I wonder if the Princess will be there?"
